Vicki Brooks has been a Certified Nurse-Midwife with Ob-Gyn Associates of Montgomery since 1999. She received her Associates in Nursing at Troy State University’s Montgomery campus, then went on to complete her certificate in Nurse-Midwifery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. After obtaining her midwifery certificate, Vicki completed her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Troy State University and then earned her Masters in Public Health at the University of Alabama’s Birmingham campus. Vicki is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Advanced Practitioners for the River Region.
Vicki considers it a privilege to provide obstetrics care for women. She has given birth to six children and has had the opportunity to attend the births of most of her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family.
Since becoming a nurse-midwife, Vicki has attended the births of over 5,000 babies. Her passion and desire to pursue midwifery stemmed from the births of her own children. She considers it a rewarding opportunity to guide women through pregnancy and birth. She truly enjoys the long-term relationships she builds with her patients and plans to continue providing ob/gyn care for many years to come.
Melissa Hatter joined Ob-Gyn Associates of Montgomery as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in August 2012. She provides well women health exams, pregnancy care and attends births at Baptist Medical Center East. She is also trained in placing IUDs and Nexplanon devices for birth control. Melissa received her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Alabama and her graduate nursing degree from East Carolina University. Melissa is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the Alabama Affiliate of ACNM, and the Alabama State Nurses Association. She serves on the Joint Committee for Advanced Practice Nursing and on the Alabama Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Advisory Council.
Melissa is married to Aaron and the have two sons, Ayden and Preston. They enjoy the variety of cultural and recreational opportunities that are available in Montgomery.
Melissa is passionate about women’s health throughout the lifespan, and she believes that women should have the power to make informed decisions about their care. She is an advocate for women’s health policies at the state and national level through her memberships in several professional organizations. Her desire is that women throughout Alabama have access to health information that empowers them to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.
