wallerDr. Greg Waller is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. As the founder of OB-GYN Associates of Montgomery his compassionate and caring approach along with his expertise and clinical skills allow him to provide exceptional patient care.

Dr. Waller received his medical degree from University of Florida where he was awarded numerous distinctions given to the student exemplifying scholastic and personal attributes essential to the art of medical practice. He completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and received the Top Gun Award for his superlative surgical technique.

Dr. Waller continues to provide state of the art obstetric services with special emphasis and training in gynecological surgeries including pelvic prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, fibroids, and infertility. He was the first to bring Robotic Surgery to Baptist Medical Center East and has advanced training in Robotics and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Waller has served as Chief of Staff and OB/GYN Department Chair at Baptist Medical Center East. Dr. Waller is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists as well as the Medical Association of Alabama. He is married with children and enjoys spending time with his family.

Allen Dupre, MD

Dr. Allen Dupre, a native of Louisiana, earned his Bachelor Degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and his Medical Degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed internship and residency training at the University of Mississippi, School of Medicine before joining Dr. Greg Waller to form OBGYN Associates of Montgomery.

Dr. Dupre is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Locally, Dr. Dupre has served on the Board of Directors of the Gift of Life Foundation since 1996 and has served Chairman in the past. At Baptist Medical Center East, he has served as Chairman of the OBGYN Department and Chief of Staff. He has also served in the past as a Member of the Advisory Board for the hospital.

Dr. Dupre provides care for women in need of advanced laparoscopy, robotic procedures, pelvic floor reconstruction and incontinence surgery. He welcomes the challenge of caring for women with reproductive difficulties. He also enjoys a large obstetrical practice including low and high risk patients.

Dr. Dupre and his wife, Debbie, are blessed with four children. Outside of his professional interests, he enjoys college football, traveling, and gardening.

Joseph Desautels, MD

Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Desautels has been practicing in Montgomery, AL since 1999 when he finished his Ob/Gyn residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While in residency he was chosen to be Chief Resident and received the Henry M. Costello Award as Most Outstanding Resident. Prior to residency, Dr. Desautels earned his M.D. degree in his home state from the University of North Dakota.

Offering his patients up to date and comprehensive Ob/Gyn care, Dr. Desautels manages patients with both high risk and low risk pregnancies. While very comfortable with cesarean delivery when needed, Dr. Desautels encourages his patients who are able, to go into labor on their own and deliver vaginally. He is a strong proponent of breastfeeding.

Dr. Desautels treats women and teens with gynecologic issues including fibroids, incontinence of urine, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, infertility, pelvic relaxation, menopausal symptoms, and birth control needs (including IUDs and Nexplanon).

Dr. Desautels is trained in and routinely performs a wide variety of gynecologic surgeries and procedures. These include minimally invasive hysterectomies with the Da Vinci robot, vaginal hysterectomies, endometrial ablation with Novasure and HTA, tubal ligation and reversal of tubal ligation, surgeries to correct pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, and surgeries to treat endometriosis and interstitial cystitis.

As Ob/Gyn Clerkship director and Assistant Professor for the UAB School of Medicine, Dr. Desautels is able to share his knowledge and skills with the next generation of physicians. This position allows him to stay up to date on the latest advances in Women’s Health and have a close connection with subspecialists and researchers in the field.

Paula J. Rust, DO

Dr. Paula Rust attended the University of Missouri for college education then proceeded to Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences for medical school training where she received a Doctorate of Osteopathy(DO). She attended residency at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Currently she serves a wide spectrum of patients, including normal to high risk pregnancy and a variety of gynecological problems. She is trained in advances robotic gynecological surgery with the Davinci Robot.

Christel Bowman, MD

Dr. Bowman is a native of South Louisiana but has called Alabama “home” for 18 years. She attended Tulane University for undergraduate education and then completed a doctorate of pharmacy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She and her husband, Michael, moved to Prattville in 2005, and they have three children. She worked as a pharmacist in Prattville for 9 years before returning to medical school to fulfill her calling of serving as a physician. Her family lives in Prattville. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and traveling.

She completed her Doctorate of Medicine at Whittingdon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. In 2022, she completed postgraduate training in Family Medicine at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and just completed an additional year of training as a fellow in surgical obstetrics. Dr. Bowman is overjoyed to be returning to the Montgomery area and believes it is a privilege to serve the community as a physician.

Vicki Brooks, CNM

Vicki Brooks has been a Certified Nurse-Midwife with Ob-Gyn Associates of Montgomery since 1999. She received her Associates in Nursing at Troy State University’s Montgomery campus, then went on to complete her certificate in Nurse-Midwifery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. After obtaining her midwifery certificate, Vicki completed her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Troy State University and then earned her Masters in Public Health at the University of Alabama’s Birmingham campus. Vicki is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Advanced Practitioners for the River Region.

Vicki considers it a privilege to provide obstetrics care for women. She has given birth to six children and has had the opportunity to attend the births of most of her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family.

Since becoming a nurse-midwife, Vicki has attended the births of over 5,000 babies. Her passion and desire to pursue midwifery stemmed from the births of her own children. She considers it a rewarding opportunity to guide women through pregnancy and birth. She truly enjoys the long-term relationships she builds with her patients and plans to continue providing OB/GYN care for many years to come.

Dana Moorer, CNM

Dana Moorer graduated from Troy University with an Associate of Science in Nursing.
After many years of labor and delivery nursing she continued her education at Jacksonville State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Dana attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a master’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery. She is board certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board and a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwifery.

Dana is married and has two children. She attends the Landmark Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family, watching her son march in the Alabama Christian Academy Eagle marching band, and watching her daughter play soccer.

Dana is privileged to care for women during an amazing time during their lives. She is dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based quality care to women during pregnancy as well as gynecological needs.

Charla Smith, CNM

Charla Smith received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from William Carey University at Gulfport Mississippi, and then went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. She is certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board. Charla is a member of the American Collage of Nurse-Midwives.

Charla considers it a true honor and privilege to provide quality health care for all women. Her calling into midwifery began on a mission trip in Panama Central America working with women from the Darien Province. She has also traveled to Guatemala and Africa as a mission team member with Health Talents International.

Charla has a son, two daughters and six grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, art, and reading.

Katherine Brinley, CNM

Katherine (“Katie”) Brinley received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing, and Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. She is certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board. 

Katie and her family served for 15 years in Turkey as missionaries. While there, she was honored to provide midwifery and birth coach services to both Turks and internationals. She loves teaching prenatal classes and delights in being with women along the miraculous journey of pregnancy, birthing, motherhood, and womanhood as a whole.

Della Fuller, CRNP was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama.

Mrs. Fuller’s education began at Trenholm vocational College and continued at Troy University graduating with a Master’s in Nursing and the Nurse Practitioner Program. She is certified through American Nurse’s Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, a member of Advanced River Region Practitioners and a current member of Sigma Theta Tau.

Mrs. Fuller’s certification degree is in Family Practice, with a specialty and primary interest being in Women’s Health. She has over 39 years of experience working in the OBGYN field and Women’s healthcare.

Frances E. Rutledge is a board certified registered nurse practitioner receiving her certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Formerly Frances practiced as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Baptist Medical Center East, and at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in high-risk obstetrics as well as labor and delivery.

Frances has a Master’s of Science in Nursing specializing in Primary Care and Nursing Education from Auburn University. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University Montgomery, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at AUM, Frances received the Gross Portis Award for scholarship, leadership, compassion, integrity, and professionalism.
